DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY
Voltarea International Journal (VTRIJ), an annual journal founded in 2025 and published by DB Ediciones, implements various procedures aimed at ensuring the continuous accessibility of digital content stored on its servers:
-
Regular backup of both the server and the files.
-
Continuous updates of the software used and planning for potential future migrations.
-
Inclusion of metadata to support digital preservation.
-
Use of the DOI system for content identification and referencing.
-
Self-sufficiency, minimizing reliance on external systems, data, or documentation.
-
Implementation of digital preservation strategies such as data rejuvenation, migrations, technological preservation, and digital archaeology, with periodic evaluations to ensure their effectiveness.
-
Availability of published files in accessible and reproducible formats, such as PDF and HTML.
The journal is part of the LOCKSS Private Network (PKP-PLN) of the Public Knowledge Project, which establishes a decentralized and distributed archival system among collaborating libraries, aiming to create permanent archives that ensure the conservation and potential restoration of the journal's original content.
