Ethics in Scientific Publication
Research must comply with the ethical standards in force in the country and/or region where it is conducted, and authors are required to obtain the necessary approvals. When using patient images, it is essential to ensure the protection of their identity and privacy. Within this framework, CerebrIQ International Journal (CRQIJ), an annual publication founded in 2025 and published by Sapiens Ediciones, adheres to the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), available at: https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2021.pdf.
Research involving experimental animals and/or human subjects
When the research submitted to the journal involves the participation of experimental animals or human beings, authors must ensure that the study complies with the ethical principles established in the Declaration of Helsinki (http://doi.org/10.1001/jama.2013.281053) or its Spanish version (https://www.wma.net/es/policies-post/declaracion-de-helsinki-de-la-amm-principios-eticos-para-las-investigaciones-medicas-en-seres-humanos/). Authors must also obtain informed consent from all participants and explicitly state this in the manuscript. In addition, the journal follows the ICMJE recommendations mentioned above. For randomized clinical trials, authors must obtain approval from the relevant Clinical Research Ethics Committee (or its equivalent according to local regulations), disclose study funding, and register the trial in a publicly accessible registry, such as www.clinicaltrials.gov.
Conflict of interest
All authors are required to disclose any personal or financial relationships with individuals or organizations that may improperly influence their work. CerebrIQ International Journal (CRQIJ) follows the ICMJE recommendations on this matter, detailed in section II-B-2 of the following link: https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2021.pdf. If no conflicts exist, authors must state in the appropriate section: “Conflicts of interest: none.” If conflicts do exist, the corresponding declaration must be provided, and the ICMJE official disclosure form must be attached (https://www.icmje.org/downloads/coi_disclosure.docx). The information included in this declaration must be consistent with that presented in the manuscript.
Funding disclosure
Authors must specify the institutions that provided financial support for the research and/or the preparation of the article, as well as briefly describe the role of the sponsors in the study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, writing, or the decision to submit the manuscript for publication. If no such support was received, this must also be explicitly stated.
